This character disappeared from the HPI series and no one noticed! Have you found him?

The series HPI continues to be a hit on TF1 with its fifth season, but a historical figure has mysteriously disappeared from the screens. Bonnemain, the forensic pathologist played by Christopher Bayemi, has been absent for several episodes. However, few viewers seem to have noticed this disappearance…
The real reason behind this prolonged absence
Christopher Bayemi has opened up about the reasons for his departure from the series. A play is the main cause: “I starred in Passeport by Alexis Michalik for over six months in Paris, then six months on tour.” A schedule incompatible with the filming of HPI.
The actor explains: “When you’re on tour, it’s complicated to pass auditions. Even with self-tapes, it’s difficult to reconcile the two.” This situation explains why Bonnemain will not return in the final episodes scheduled for fall 2025.
A secondary character who has become indispensable? Bonnemain has been a recurring character since HPI launched in 2021. Her absence raises questions: how does the series handle investigations without her forensic expertise? The writers clearly found alternative solutions, keeping her disappearance under wraps.
Yet, the character brought a touch of humor and seriousness to Morgane Alvaro’s team. Her prolonged absence shows how series can do without certain supporting characters without audiences batting an eyelid. And what about Luther? Christopher Bayemi also discussed the fate of Luther, the TF1 series he starred in in 2021. “The sequel has been written for four years now,” he revealed. But circumstances (lockdowns, the need for lighter programming) have delayed the project.
The actor remains hopeful: “If Luther has a sequel, David Morley will be part of it.” This news should delight fans of this crime series with a darker tone than HPI.
HPI: Ending Scheduled for 2025
Audrey Fleurot has confirmed that the fifth season will be the last. “It’s a reasoned choice, not an emotional one,” she explains. The actress admits, however, that it will be difficult to leave Morgane Alvaro, a role that has left a lasting impression on her. The series is therefore ending at the height of its popularity, avoiding the pitfall of series that drag on forever. This decision could explain why Bonnemain’s absence goes almost unnoticed: viewers are too preoccupied with the final story arc of Morgane and her team.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBMels5bIoA
