Between punchlines, the action will extend to Smallville to explore the Kryptonian’s human side; a balance Gunn already demonstrated on The Suicide Squad.

Observers also praise the presence of scenes shot on IMAX film, a direct homage to Richard Donner and a guarantee of an organic texture that was missing from the previous installments. Rumors even suggest a cameo by Michael Shannon, to bring the Kryptonian threats full circle.
