Sakamoto Days season 2: three new faces bring back Taro’s past
The return of Sakamoto Days is finally taking shape. Netflix has unveiled a new trailer for season 2, expected in January 2027, and three characters are already complicating the game around Taro.
Etsuko Satoda, Amane Yotsumura, and Satoru Yatsumura appear in these first images. Their names herald a conflict that will broaden Taro’s trajectory, while the infiltration of the JCC and the threat of X/Slur remain at the heart of the story.
Three new faces in a tenser season
The trailer still keeps a part of mystery about the exact role of each character. This is rather good news: the series shows enough material to be enticing without turning its surprises into a detailed summary.
Satoda, Yotsumura, and Yatsumura arrive as new pieces on an already unstable chessboard. Taro must grapple with his past, his opponents, and the consequences of the JCC infiltration. Each arrival can shift the balance without erasing the established characters.
The threat of X/Slur gives this announcement a broader significance. The danger no longer comes from a single isolated confrontation: it weighs on the entire organization and on how Taro protects those around him. Season 2 seems poised to push this tension beyond the usual hunt.
A return announced for January 2027
Netflix confirms a release in January 2027, but has not yet communicated a specific day. We will therefore have to wait before discussing the episode schedule or detailed launch date.
This first glimpse puts Taro back at the heart of the movement, adds three figures capable of derailing his plans, and maintains enough shadows so that the season does not lose its interest before its release.
